Generally speaking, a school will usually have a representative in assisting housing issue. For those schools who offer housing, the Housing Department will be responsible. If not, usually either the Student Union (or known as Associated Student) or international student office will have someone for that.

Since you did not say what exactly happened (there is no available housing or no housing at all), so it is difficult to direct you where to ask for help.

Please note - it is always the best idea not to arrange any private housing options over the internet, even it means your son may have to stay in a hotel/motel for weeks.
