The company (based in Spain) makes a variety of guitars that range from the extremely expensive (several thousand dollars) to more moderately priced ones that range from as little $300 to around $1000 (and these are the ones NOT made in Spain, but done elsewhere like China or Indonesia to their specifications).
I bought a Manuel Rodriguez Caballo 11 on sale at Guitar Center, and I absolutely love it. It's incredibly easy to play even with my small hands and I love the mellow tone. However I'm not what you would call a serious guitarist. I'm sure there are guitarists out there that would think my beloved guitar wouldn't even make a decent wall decoration.
The particular model your teacher recommends should be a great sounding instrument. Depending where you buy it, hey run around $1500--more or less. Take advantage of sales or used instruments. Also price and quality might differ if the guitar was actually handbuilt in Spain or China. And there are a couple of model "B"s including a cutaway which I don't think your teacher is recommending. What reviews I found on the guitar tends to comment on it's beautiful rich tone, but mention a high action which might make it harder for some people to play. An action can be lower by a guitar repair shop.
The bottom line of choosing the right guitar for you, is whether you like it or not. Therefore, I would recommend you don't mail order the thing. Guitars are made of natural materials and there are bound to be slight differences (even if they're only cosmetic) among even the same model and brand. Guitarists should consider things like how the guitar even feels when they hold it, along with the actual sound of the instrument. So, find a guitar shop of some kind where you can try out your instrument before you buy it. If your teacher is willing, ask him to accompany you when you go so he can advise you on whether that particular guitar is a good one.
Don't buy off Ebay or Craigslist unless you have the option of returning the guitar if it turns out that they left the thing outside during the last major hurricane.
