H2(g) + I2(g)-------2HI(g)
Consider the above reversible reaction, if we increase the total pressure by
decrease the volume(at constant temperature), what effect will have on the

✔ 最佳答案
H2(g) + I2(g) ⇌ 2HI(g)

In the equation above, there are 2 moles of gaseous molecules on the bothsides. When the total pressure isincreased by decreasing the volume at constant temperature, the forwardreaction rate and the backward reaction rate are increased to the same extent. Therefore, the equilibrium is NOT disturbed, and the equilibrium position remains UNCHANGED.
