Thanks for your explaination. I believe you can catch my meaning. Franc in this article should be refered to French Franc, but not Swiss Franc, right? There is no point that I mention other francs in other regions in a question only talking about France.

Yes, you are correct. French Franc only disappeared in terms of money used in daily life, but it still exist in French mind. This can be proved by amount shown on some ticket issued by supermarket.

There are several difference franc. Officially speaking, franc did not disappear.

Even French franc has been replaced by Euro, France still have franc through overseas territories (like CFP franc).

For what it worth, CFP franc can be still considered as a legal tender in addition to Euro (only CFP franc can't be use in daily transaction).

Also - one of the most famous existing franc is Swiss franc (CHF).

So franc did not disappear.

I know you mean French Franc at all times. But given other francs may be either considered as a legal tender in France (like CFP franc) or used (like CHF for TGV Lyria), that's why I feel there is a need to point that out.
