2 question about water 去到100度

1.is water changes into steam only during boiling at 100*c. is it correct?if not,what is the name of the process for water to change into steam expect boiling and state two daily life situations where we can see this process.

2.expansion joints,which act somewhat like loosely interlocking fingers, are placed in bridges. what is the function of these expansion joints? what will happen if no expansion joints are placed in bridges

1. Water can change into water vapour at any temperature, provided that the air is not saturated. This process is called "evapouration".

A cup of water left on the table will become less and less because of evapouration.

Wet clothes hanging up get dried because of evapouration.

2. As the name implies, "expansion joints" allows bridges to expand during hot weather.

If no such expansion joint exists, the force produced during expansion will cause the bridge crooked.
