P: Mr. Chan was murdered last night. Someone saw you entering his home at midnight. Where were you at that time?

S: I had dinner with my friends at eight o’clock last night.

P: But your friends said that you left at eleven o’clock that night. Where did you go then?

S: I went to supermarket and bought something.

P: Do (現在問不用 past tense, "Did") you have any witness who can prove you went to supermarket?

S: No. I went to supermarket by myself.

P: Ok. I will check the closed - circuit television of the supermarket where you went to. Did you go to Mr. Chan‘s home last night?

S: Yes. He is my boss. I went to his home to talk about business last night.

P: Did you kill Mr. Chan at that time?

S: No. I went back home at one o'clock.

P: But we found your fingerprints and Mr. Chan’s blood on the knife in the rubbish bin outside your home.

S: Well, I killed him. I borrowed $5000 (or five thousand dollars) from him last week. However, I didn’t have money to pay him back. He didn’t pay my salary this month. We wrangled and we began to fight (不是 fright). At eleven o’clock, I took a knife behind me and killed (pierce 不是這麼用, 可用 “stabbed” ) him.

P: Ok. I will check the closed - circuit television of the supermarket where you *go to. And did you go to Mr. Chan‘s home last night?

S: Yes. *Since he is my boss I went to his home to talk about *the business last night .

P: Did you kill *Mr. Chan at that time?

S: No. I *had went back to my home at one o'clock.

S: Well, I have killed him. I *borrowed 5000 dollars from him last week. However, I didn’t have *enough money to pay him back. So he had not paid for my salary this month. We wrangled and * began to fright. At the eleventh time, I *took the knife behind me to pierce him.
