--急--tall 與 high 的比較 ((22點))

當描述某人或某物的高度時會用形容詞 tall，

而形容某物從底部到頂端有一段長距離會用high。

High 不能用來形容人、動物或植物，但可以用來形容建築物。

tall 和 high 也都可當副詞使用。


舉例:
That is a very high shelf. I don't think I can reach it.
那個架子很高，我伸手搆不到。

This is a very tall cabinet.
這是一個很高的櫃子。

Taipei 101 is over one hundred stories tall.
台北 101 超過一百層樓高。

That building is 1500 meters high.
那棟建築物有一千五百公尺高。

Ellen is very interested in high fashion.
艾倫對最流行的時尚很有興趣。

That is a very tall order. I'm not sure if I can do it!

是錯誤的，hight不是高度的意思喔。

"high" refers to the "elevation" from the ground.

"High" has another meaning:
(1)it relates to the emotional state of a person.
(2)It could also relate to the body temperature of the person as when we say that a person has a high fever.
(3)A person is said to be high on alcohol or any other drug.
