英文句子tense問題

The hall was big is correct, but I would like tomake a few revisions to your short essay: I visited Lo Wu Control Point yesterday. It islocated in the northern part of Hong Kong. I took the MTR to the control pointand arrived there at 2:30pm. There were many tourists in the departure hall.The hall was big. Looks like you can still expand your essay after the lastsentence. I suppose you can use the word "imposing" to describe the hall.

Like above helper said "The hall was big" is fine.
However, the first 2 line you given is having some error" Yeaterday,I visited Lo Wu Control Point. It located at Hong Kong north. I took MTR train to there around 2.30pm. There were many tourists at the departure hall.

不過如果視這文章全篇都是記錄你的行程和描述，就全部tense都應該是past tense.
It is located in the north of Hong Kong. 這句亦應該是
It was located in the north of Hong Kong.

記住這種寫法是因為係在記敘文(或說故事)的前題下，而不是普通英文堂教的時式的發生在過去還是現在的動詞規則，所以無論那東西是當時(例如：很多人)還是事實(例如：座樓的形狀)都係可以用同一格式的past tense.

試留意報紙的文章寫法。如果你想寫一些是事後的感想，可以另開一段才改用present tense表示是寫這報告時的討論而不是記述當時的情況。

希望你試試把這樣分法來決定tense，再把這做法問問老師是否同意。
