How to type this character?

For the first character, 『益』『益』，in most fonts，the first two strokes points up on the outer edges.
It is also more common in this form for hand writing.

I don't see any difference for the second character 『范』『范』，the top part may appear as two crosses, i.e. the horizontal line is not joint together.
It is true for all characters having this "flower head", for faster hand writing, the horizontal line is often joined.
