can police use handcuff to lock my hands if a front light on my bike not working probably?

A police stopped me while I was on the way home last night (7/Feb). He told me I didnt have front light. I told him its a cheap torch, just £1 from a pound shop. Someone stole my flashing light when I parked on the road, so I bought this one. I found its not working well too. He asked me who stole it. I told him "your people a british" He broke the light holder, then took it. (I saw him running away from window). Then he said "you are under arrested, I charged you (1) Breach of peace; (2) no front light on your bike. Then two men - one held my left hand, one held my right hand, took me into a police car. One police used handcuff to lock my hand. I told him too tight, he used his both hand to push much tighten. I push hands because too sore. I told him and show him he did hurt my hands. Another police came into the car, both two police asked me questions. I refused to answer 1st police's questions. I told them I need an interpreter and lawyer. They said you had right to do it, but not now. They said if I didnt answer their question they would lock me in police station 24 hours.
My question is what's my right, do they hv right to do it?

I did not do anything rough. One of police was very rough. After I answered his question, he used one hand to hold my hand and told me "you are under arrested". My both hands are bruised, some blue, black and red colour in my skin. I did nothing react their "arrest", never think to run, because it's unneccessary. But they held my arms were hard.

The inccident was happened in Edinburgh Scotland. I weared cycling wear, orange color, very bright, helmet, glovers, two flashing lights in rear, one torch in front (but not working propably, its new, I didnt know until using it), a light in front wheel. I want to know how to raise complain to these two polices. I told them I need an interpreter and lawyer. But they ignored me. and still force me to answer their questions.

I need an interpreter because he has heavy scottish accent. If any one dont believe what I said, please dont need to reply me. I seeked help in here because I dont know british laws. I have been living in UK few years, dont expect I can fly. I need an inperpreter to explain some legal term and I do have right to request it. I answer his question but he charged me BREACH OF PEACE. I talked to a senior police officer, he also didnt aggree what he charged me. I dont think he can charge me too. And I will deal with him in court.

You will find who's right who's wrong. http://www.civilrightsmovement.co.uk/police-your-civil-rights.html Please remember we are human, not tortoises. We cant hidding inside shell. Today UK Police is same as 10 years ago Hong Kong. There have laws but they will not follow it. They use their ways to do what they like. They would give you trouble if you dont like dog to lick their shoes. Should we do it??

It sounds some people thought I was a writer. However, it's true, hard to believe it. I just called police switchboard to make an appointment with senior officer to complain their police on Saturday (9/Feb). If I am not satisfy their "investigation", my colleagues told me I could appeal to my MSPs.

After talking to my friend (a Lecturer in ediburgh university) and my colleagues (all britishes), they told me they are happy to be my witness for what the polices did - hurt my both hands.
Policeman is a normal people, same as you and me. Please read your new paper regularly, police kill people, police raped woman, etc. They are not saints. Some policemen misused their power to give hard time to people. All people know it. go to following links to see your news. I can't shut my month until I die.
Because I dialed 999 after the police pushed handcuff to hurt my hands. He took my mobile while I was talking to 999 people. Two other polices came to my flat, I told them whole story. Both polices got shock as well. they asked me to report to police station.

Yes obviously your question is a hoax. Because of the word you used here "your people a british". Normally people would not say those words.

You don't say where you are from but our policemen and women are nice people as long as you cooperate with them, pee them off and you deserve all you get and I'm sure that's the same with your own national police, if you don't like it you either behave or go home
A cheap torch is not going to save your life when you get run over by a truck

You were winding them up. Why do you need an Interpreter when you can write like this.
Hard to believe any of this is true.

You need to have a light on the front and back of your bike if you are cycling in the England at night.

I dont understand why they charged you with breach of the peace.

I can understand why they charged you for not having a light - however this is a bit heavy handed, my friend got caught without a light and she simply got told to go and walk home get a light or else....

I'm also surprised they used handcuffs...did you resist arrest? Did you kick up a fuss or were you rude to the police? Very strange that they are so heavy handed, I would of thought a fine or a caution would of made a lot more sense.

I guess if you allow your government to take away your right to self defense, you will put up with anything!

Seriously there are laws in the UK about lights on your bicycles?

Yes of course there is, many of our roads are dark and unlit, there are many accidents with cyclist every year, the law is there to protect all the road users and reduce accidents.

it is very clear not one bit of this is the truth to many details do not add up.
Next time you write a story like this make sure it is believable.

You should always have all the parts on your bike working correctly, and never bad mouth the police, they do not like it,answer all their questions politely, you bought all the trouble on yourself.Get a good lawyer, and let him talk, you keep your mouth shut.

I really hope the best for you guys. And I will do my best to keep gun rights here in America, so that the globalists cannot democide all Western Civilization like what happened in the Holodomor under Jewish Bolsheviks. Because if they ever disarm Americans then there will be nowhere safe to run. They will kill all White people. But if they commit democide before they disarm America, then Americans will never give up their guns. That's why they need to take our guns first. We are the last line of defense against the Jewish Bolsheviks.

Im not sure about British Law, I know in the UK that you Parliamentary (non statuatory Law). In the US you have the right to remain silent, and your Miranda Rights are read to you before you are arrested. I don't beleive British law allows you to remain silent, it seems like they did charge you with crimes already. Realize in the US you would have been jailed until you could pay bail for Breach of peace, the tailight thing would have been a sitation.

Not really...that is a stupid reason to handcuff somebody. You did not breach peace, and you did have a front light on your bike. But if it comes to court, it will be likely that you will win the case.
