Ina book fair , all magazines are sold at X% discount , while all books are sold at y % discount.Jonathan paid $151 for a book and a magazine with marked prices $150 and $20 respectively .Jill paid $318 for a book and a magazine with marked prices $300 and $60 respectively .Find the values of x and y .

Since there're Jonathan and Jill's information, we can deduce:150(1-x%)+20(1-y%)=151
and
300(1-x%)+60(1-y%)=318
Hence:
y=20, x=10.

(2)-2(1): 20(y%)=16, y=80
Put y=80 into (1): 150(x%)=135, x=90
