Do I qualify for Earned Income Credit?

Painfully confused by it all. Tried doing the questionaire stuff on the irs page to find the answer but wasn't sure if I was answering stuff correctly. married filing joint. Just his income of about 31k, 1 child. I was just thinking there was some sort of cut off earnings wise for whether you qualify or not having a child. Is that correct?

Yes, you qualify. Any of the free tax filers online would show this as well. And they are FREE to file. Don't waste money paying someone what can be so easily done that you get back just as quick as anyone else would.

Yes there's a cutoff, and 31K is in the area where it has started to taper down, but married, 1 eligible child, you'd still get around $1775 EIC

is the child under 17? does the child live with you? are you eligible to claim the child as your dependent? is the child over 19 and attending full time school 5 months of the year?
the higher the income the less EIC after an apex point of income
