請問 tough 與 sturdy 的差別?

個人淺見，兩者用於不同情況下，可能會改變意思。
tough 比 sturdy 多了 endure (忍受) / able to withstand 的意思，for instance:
'He is a tough guy to beat' 和 'He is a sturdy guy to beat' 意思有別。

當別人說: 'he is a tough guy' 不一定是指他外形強壯 (strong) ，可以是說他的個性堅強。

Trucks are tough and sturdy:卡車是艱難的

Sturdy 通常用來描述 "穩定或是穩固" 的程度˙比如說這桌子很穩固或是那人的手很穩

Tough 有很多意思˙可適用於很多情況˙ 是比較抽象的描述詞˙ 幾乎可以用於任合情況人事物˙

例如 He has sturdy hands 跟 He has tough hands 是完全不同意思
