Can pure silver be obtained from its nitrate solution?

Sure
this can be achieved by method of displacement.

since Ag is low in the reactivity series,
we can insert a piece of metal that is more reactive than Ag
eg, Al,Zn,Cu..., and silver will be displaced out by the more reactive metal
(but not K, Na, Ca, Mg because they will react with water due to high reactivity)

i used Cu as an example
ionic equation:

Cu(s) + 2Ag+ (aq) ---> Cu2+ (aq) + 2Ag(s)

observation:
silvery coating observed on the surface of copper plate

other than silvery coating observed, solution will becomes blue as Ag+ ions are coloureless while copper(II) ions are blue.
