點解" Are you used to...? " 後面嘅動詞要+ing
吾係to後面不可+ing
It is because the "to " in the phrase are you used to is a preposition
not an infinitive.We can use a noun or a gerund (verb +ing) after prepositions.
e.g.Are you used to the hot weather in Hong Kong? (noun)
I am used to the hot weather in Hong Kong. (noun)
I am used to getting up at six in the morning. . (gerund)
因為在片語 are you used to 中這個to 是個介詞, 不是個不定詞, 在介詞 to 後要用 名詞或動名詞 (verb+ing)。
要特別小心 to 是用作介詞 還是不定詞 , 否則很易出錯的。

used to==1.indicating a constant or frequent practice in the past; e.g. there used to be, That's where I used to live when I was a child,Life isn't so easy here as it used to be, You used to smoke a pipe usen't or didn't there? 2.accustomed to, e.g.He's quite used to hard work, I'm not used to being spoken to in that rude way, You will soon be used to it, or You will soon get used to it.
Note: used ==anomalous finite變則定動詞;irregular past tense and past participle of use.
to==infinitive 不定詞;
