英文中Ever的意思?

Ever 是語氣詞，語助詞，在不同情況翻譯會有不同。

The deadline's tomorrow. How are we ever going to catch up in time?
明天期限就到了。我們怎麼可能來得及？（加重怎麼的語氣 - How 已經是『怎麼』，ever 是加強how）

The tax laws grow ever more complex.
賦稅法條一直都越變越複雜。

ever 有時意思是：always; at all times 翻譯大約是『總是；一直』
