Hemoglobin is a conjugated protein.
It has globin and heme moieties.
In one molecule of hemoglobin, there are four chains of globin and four protoporphyrins each with an iron atom.
Porphyrin with iron is called heme.
So, in one hemoglobin molecule there are four hemes and four globins.
Each hemoglobin picks up four molecules of oxdygen.
There are thousands of hemoglobin molecules packed in a cell called erythrocyte or red blood cell.
There are five million red blood cells in in cubic mm of human blood.

Haemoglobin carries iron to every where in your body.

It's a type of PROTEIN found in red blood cells. It consists of 4 individual amino acid chains and 4 haem groups (Fe 2+ ions, basically), which are what bond with oxygen.

If you're an A-level student, ^that^ was a tidy summary of what it is. Hope I helped.

Hemoglobin is the iron-containing oxygen-transport metalloprotein in the red blood cells of all vertebrates (with the exception of the fish family Channichthyidae) as well as the tissues of some invertebrates. Hemoglobin in the blood carries oxygen from the respiratory organs to the rest of the body where it releases the oxygen to burn nutrients to provide energy to power the functions of the organism, and collects the resultant carbon dioxide to bring it back to the respiratory organs to be dispensed from the organism. Hope this helps :)

Your heart pumps blood around your body, blood is body fluid that supplies substances for organs, tissues, muscles and cells that around your body. Blood includes hemoglobin, hemoglobin is a type of protein that is found in the red blood cells, it includes of 4 separate amino acid chains and four HAEM groups, (Fe2+ ions) this is what helps the blood bond with the oxygen to carry it around to the organs and muscles, it also helps to carry iron everywhere in your body.

Haemoglobin (abbreviation: Hb) is the iron-containing oxygen-transport metalloprotein in the red blood cells of all vertebrates (with the exception of the fish family Channichthyidae) as well as the tissues of some invertebrates. Haemoglobin in the blood carries oxygen from the respiratory organs (lungs or gills) to the rest of the body (i.e. the tissues) where it releases the oxygen to burn nutrients to provide energy to power the functions of the organism, and collects the resultant carbon dioxide to bring it back to the respiratory organs to be dispensed from the organism.
Haemoglobin not only carries oxygen throughout the body, but also carries carbon dioxide away from certain body parts.
