Three reasons for bringing back death penalty

(1) Death penalty for serious crime acts as an effective deterrent.
It is hoped that people may think twice before they commit crime. On the whole, most criminals fear death because they do think about the consequences of their acts.

(2) Death penalty is a legal process which serves the purpose of vengeance.
For some conservatives, "an eye for an eye" is the justified and only way to run in the justice system. Hideous crimes must not escape justice.

(3) Without death penalty, convicted offenders may commit the crime again.
They may escape from prison or may be released on parole for various reasons. In U.S. a few hard-core criminals did murder other inmates and prison guards while serving life sentence
