It has been my cherished wish to study computer science as my major in the university.

I am interested in computer science in the beginning of form three. At that time, I was taught to learn how to use the program language “Pascal”which is the first program language that I encountered. After learning some basic skill, such as“if then else”, “for to do”, “repeat until” etc. I has been assigned to make a game call“tic tac toc”. At first, I totally didn’t believe that I could finish making the game just using those techniques. But after I tried to think and asked teacher to give me some hints. I finally make the game successfully. Although the process was very tough, I like the process of thinking how to write a program!

I also love mathematics. Studying computer science requires the students to have mathematics knowledge. Enrolling “associate degree in Engineering” can build up my mathematics knowledge. In the course, I have learnt the basic counting methods, permutation combination and probability to help me to study discrete mathematics in the future.

In the first semester, I also studied the computer organization course. The difficult part in the course for me is learning cache memory and understanding their mapping techniques. These part requires some calculation to find out the tags, lines and words. Since I could not understand the concept immediately. I had to search related notes or videos so that I could understand the concept. Most probably I had to spend one hour for me to find out a suitable material that can make me understand the course more.

After the process of trying to think and asking teacher for some hints, finally I was success. Although the process was very tough, I like the procedure of thinking how to write a program.
