Let x be the number of $5 coins,y be the number of $2 coins.
5x+2y=114———(1)
x+y=30————(2)
From (2),
x=30-y———(3)
Sub (3) into (1),
5(30-y)+2y=114
150-3y=114
-3y=-36
y=12
Sub y=12 into (2),
x+12=30
x=18
The number of $5 coins is 18,
The number of $2 coins is 12.
