Is it ok that I am writing a book but I haven't figured out the ending yet?

I only have the basic plot down (and only part of it)...do I have to know how it ends and everything before I start writing? Is it ok to make it up as I go along?

if you are really sure that you want to write it out , and will be constantly till the end, the go ahead!
when you reach to the moment, you will naturally know how the ending will be, i'm sure

Of course you can write without knowing the ending. Some writers prefer to do it that way. Others prefer to have an outline. Do what feels right for your work.

Well, figure out your plot first. Develope the story around the plot. When you feel the time is right figure out the ending.
