Is this sentence grammatically correct? If not, could you correct it for me?

I want to use the ";" but i was unsure if used it properly.

you do not need the quotation marks because you aren't directly quoting something. Everything is correct, but I would seriously make it 2 sentences! It just seems to drone on. And use "incorrect" instead of "wrong."

Ignore the critics who say "What is the benefit of reading novels?" They are wrong because they fail to overlook the morals, the lessons that teach people about reality.

it is basically no any error, but its more to the style of writing. you see, each writer have their own style of word using, this is kinda your style...
