My science project is what's the best way to keep a soda cool, and in order to do it i have to measure the temperature of the soda. I've gone through two of the medical kind (the one's you stick in your mouth to see if you have a fever) but those didn't work. Would this kind work? Or do you have any other kind that you might know that would work? Where could I get one?

Fever thermometers won't work.

Your first link, the thermometer is much too large.

The second is not very accurate.

Any good laboratory thermometer would work.

I'm not surprised they didnt work since the temp range for medical types is limited. Use a thermometer that's for outdoor temps, this will give a better measurement. You can also use the electronic type which is very accurate. Dont get soda in the works, however.

Yes, it has the proper temperature range and it will work.

Fever thermometers have a very limited range in order to achieve the necessary accuracy around the human body temperature.

UPDATE: The dial thermometer will be less accurate as the dial is smaller and that type of thermometer (uses bimetallic spring) is generally less accurate to begin with.
