In my opinion, it is up to you to respond to him either providing with your personal status or just simply telling your daily activities, hobbies and favourites etc.

You can talk about your hobbies,age,habbit.etc. actually u can say anything.
may be the person just want to simplify the sentence,don't worried too much la :)
