if its 8 pm in northeast ohio is saturn anywhere in the sky?

No. Saturn Rises a couple hours before dawn in the east. It is just behind Spica. but ahead of Venus.

Jupiter however is high in the East close to yellow Aldebaran and east of the Pleiades. The stars of Orion are following this pair.

Nope. Your gonna need to go out just before sunrise to see it. If you want to see it at this time of night, you'll have to wait until May. (I know this because I asked the exact same question at this time last year and did in fact see it. It was really cool)

Well, ..., no for 12/12/12 it has already set. However, Jupiter is fairly bright, high in the night sky and almost due east. Also, Orion is up so you should check out M42 the Orion Nebula.

Download Stellarium (www.stellarium.org) a free planitarium software package. It will help you simulate the night sky for you neck of the woods so you can determine the rise, transit, and set times of objects you're interested in observing.

Saturn tends to be visible in the morning not evening sky.

If you want to point your telescope at something in the evening sky Jupiter is very bright and easily spotted being by far the brightest thing in the sky, just above Aldeberan in the constallation Taurus.
