1. the marked price of the product
=$18/25%=$72
the selling price of the product
=$72x(1-25%)=$54
the percentage discount offered by shop b
=13/72x100%=18.1%(3sig.fig.)

2. the oringin market price=1000(1+60%)=$1600
 the new market price=1000/(1-20%)=$1250

the percentage increase in the marked price
=(1250-1000)/1000 x100%=25%

3.the market price
=792/60%=$1320
the selling price
=1320-792=$528
the cost
=1320/(1+65%)=800
the percentage loss
=(800-528)/800x100%=34%

2012-12-09 23:57:45 補充:
4.(a) she should pay 437.4/(1-10%)=$486
(b)Let x% be the percentage discount
120x(1-40%)+180x(1-20%)+300x(1-x%)=486
300(1-x%)=270
1-x%=0.9
x%=10

the percentage discount is 10%.

1-x%=0.9
x%=0.1
x=10
