tense 問題

我想提及一個(過去)故事既某物件, 應該用咩式?
例如 The heart trouble (is/was) a symbol of the story.
由於我現在提及呢樣野, 應該用現在式嗎?
但用時呢個故事左去, 定係應該用過去式?

用 is

因為你現在並不是說故事內容，
而是跳了出來，就「這個故事教訓我們…」
「這故事的精神在於…」
所以用 Present Tense 就可以了

因為個故事已經過去左啦
所以應該用past tense
正如你而家想講番以前發生過既野
咁當然係用past tense啦^^
所以呢句應該係
The heart trouble was a trouble of the story.

use past tense.
so the sentence is:
The heart trouble was a symbol of the story.

use past perfect tense:
即係:
The heart trouble have been a symbol of the story.
