What career pays better, electrician or shipping/logistics?

So first I got a technical degree as an electromechanical technician in my home country, this career probably not known under this name in New Zealand but is related to electricity so basically if I get my registration, etc... I could work as an electrician here in NZ...... about 9 years ago while I still didn't even thought of coming to NZ I finished studying a second career in International Trade, I was working at it for some years when by chance of destiny I ended up immigrating here in New Zealand.... as I just studied and worked on this latest career, I decided to not to go back again to the electrical arena just so the recently finished study wasn't a waste of time but now after a few years of this work in NZ I now want to go back to electrical, I'm confused so really I hope someone could give me some good advice here..... firstly I don't deny a huge reason for me in wanting to go back to the electrical field is that electricians are well paid and is likely to start business by your own for instance..... but... at present I am earning 50k per year working in Logistics.... to get electrical registration in NZ I will have to do my NZQA assessment and very likely I will be required to undertake further studies here in NZ so I can obtain my electrical registration, etc.... so I guess that in order to become an electrician at some stage I will have to sacrifice my current income to start working as a beginner electrician in which case I will be paid I guess less than what I am earning now.... until a couple of years in future by which time maybe I would be earning the same money if I stay in the Logistics area... so I know there is a lot of 'depends on this and that' but in general can you please sound some opinion as to what would you do, recommend, suggest... know about? I feel I really want to go into electrical but also I want to know that it will really pay good money to make worth some time earning less than what I am earning today in order to become an electrician......
