Abstract noun is a noun that refers to a feeling, quality, idea, concept or state rather than a person, animal, plant, place or thing.

Abstract noun also refers to something which has no physical form, something we can not touch or see.

I don’t think “air” is an abstract noun. Air is of gas form at room temperature. Air is made up of roughly 78% of nitrogen, 21% of oxygen and 1% of other gases and water vapour. Air has mass and density. It occupies space.
