A metal tank with volume 3.10 L will burst if the absolute pressure of the gas it contains exceeds 100 atm. If 11.0 mol of an ideal gas is gut into the tank at a temperature of 23.0 oC, to what temperature can the gas be warmed before the tank ruptures? You can ignore the thermal expansion of the tank.
更新1:

The answer is 70.2 oC, I want to know the procedure, thank you!

更新2:

But what is the intial pressure?

更新3:

Can you tell me what is the meaning of ' if the absolute pressure of the gas it contains exceeds 100 atm ' ? Thank you very much!!!

Use the ideal gas equation: PV = nRT
with P = 100 atm = 100 x (1.01 x 10^5) Pa = 1.01 x 10^7 Ps
V = 3.1 L = 3.1 x 10^-3 m^3
n = 11 mol
R = 8.31 J/mol.K
T = ?
Hence, T = PV/nR = (1.01x10^7) x (3.1x10^-3)/(11 x8.31) K
T = 342.5 K = (342.5 - 273)'C = 69.5'C

Your given answer seems a bit too high.

P V = (mol) R T

P1/T1 = P2/T2

But what is the intial pressure?

It's given in eqt 1: P V = mol R T
