All roads lead to Rome , in Australia the closest I have come is Roma in Queensland.
That saying is not true.

Remember One God , one Baptism ,one Faith.
( Christianity is not one faith) Like the trinity doctrine or burning in hell , it is just another sign people do not know God or Jesus & are on the wide path to destruction.
Ephesians 4:5

ALL roads DO NOT LEAD TO GOD. Where did you get that from?

You are correct. Therer is only ONE WAY to the Father and it is through Jesus Christ. Just as you say correctly, the way is narrow and only a few will find it (Matthew 7: 13 & 14) because Jesus said only a FEW are saved. Many will try to enter God's kingdom but will not be able to (Luke 13:24)

Traffic!

Pizzaman, Sarah and Snowbird----You hear it all the time just as I do. The claim of "It does not matter what religion one belongs to.....as long as they believe in Jesus." That is the claim for everyone going to heaven. Not true. Neither is it believing only in God. Jesus makes this clear at John 17:3 while in prayer to God in heaven.

"This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ." Note two individuals are mentioned. The only true God who sends. And the Son, Jesus Christ, who is sent to earth. Accurate knowledge of both is essential for everlasting life.

Jesus made it clear yelling out to get noticed abut how much one loves Jesus or how much they do in the name of Jesus does not work either. Jesus makes the point at Matthew 7:21-23, "Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness."

Do you see the point? To live under that Kingdom's rule requires doing God's Will. Not their own will to get noticed and honored by men. Did Jesus open schools or hospitals while on earth? No. His was busy doing the will of his Father by teaching people the correct path to pleasing God and living a proper, satisfying life.

Roughly over a billion people today fulfill that scripture about the "Lord! Lord!" crowd. Such traffic to destruction needs larger roads, not paths.

Because the path to life IS narrow and few will find it. Jesus did not teach that all roads lead to God. He taught that HE is the way the truth and the life, and that no man will come to the father (God) except by him.

The phrase "All roads lead to God" is broad and spacious and as we can see many people follow it because it is easy. That easy road does lead to destruction, but just as most people don't recognize what Jesus said as truth about the narrow road, they refuse to recognize that the road they are on is leading them to destruction. They choose to be willfully ignorant of their end.

Exactly! The phrase "all roads lead to Rome" does not apply to Jehovah, that is for sure. :)

"all roads lead to God"? I have never seen that in the Bible. "the road to destruction was broad and spacious and many would follow it", now that's in the Bible and true.

You got it........not all roads lead to the same place then. As you say, only a few are the ones that are on the road to life, we need to ensure we are on it and not the other road !!!!

Matthew 7:14  whereas narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it.
People who are hard headed will go to wide road.
But...
People who love Jehovah will go to the narrow road.

All roads do not lead to God, but the scriptures states "Jesus in the way the truth and the life and no man comes to the father, except through him..."

And yes, the majority is is on broad and spacious road if they are not footstep followers of God's son, Jesus our Lord and King of the Kingdom.

All roads lead to God is a phrase borrowed from the expression, "All roads lead to Rome". It is not found in the Bible. You are correct. When someone makes that statement they are contradicting Jesus. He also said at Matthew 7:22,23, "Many will say to me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not proghesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name? And I will confess to them: I never knew you! Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness.

Jesus didn't say all roads lead to God. Matthew 7:13-14 " Enter through the narrow gate, for wide is the road and narrow the gate that lead to destruction and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it." The point is that through accepting Jesus Christ as your savior, repenting of your sins and trying to live in love and obedience to God's word {the Holy Life} you will enter that narrow gate to eternal life as promised by God but if you re bell and live in unrepentant sin, you will enter the wide gate of eternal punishment. It's a matter of choice, choose wisely Brother.

What says all roads lead to God?
2012-11-22 4:13 pm
No, all roads do not lead to God, some of them lead to destruction. Jesus is the only Way.

Many people have theri own Jesus, we need to take the offer from one true Jesus who is God.

Few ,Study the Bible and use it to find the path.
While many use the GPS common world system which is not always reliable in all areas.
They like politicians rely on their own systems and themselves.

Because the majority of people put their wants and desires first. Not with God. They are Not walking on the path. But are wondering around, lost in the trees.

Good question. This same Jesus also said that He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. That He is the One that brings us to the Father. There is no other Name that the Father recognises but those who come to Him in the Name of Jesus.

Today this wide broad road leads to destruction and many are jumping feet first into this kind of way. Everyone is ignoring the fact that there was only One Person who had the Authority to say that He was the Only Way, Truth and Life that leads to the Father.

There is so much mixture, even amongst us as christian. I sit and hear many brothers and sisters compromising the Word of God. Calling the way to God by names other than Jesus. Its heartbreaking, but this should sober us up to pray for our brothers and sisters on the earth.

This narrow path to Life has only room for one Name. And that name is Jesus. Not Bhudda, not Mohommed, Not the gods in Hinduism etc. This way is constricted for only Christ, for only those following in spirit and truth. There is no room for all these other idols.

Jesus is Lord.
Amen

For a Christian to make that statement, as some do, self evidently flies in the face of biblical revelation.
2012-11-22 4:10 pm
Just because they APPEAR "lead to God" doesn't mean they end up there when all is said and done.

Thank you my Sister for your question. My Brothers and Sisters have answered well, especially our Brother in using Matthew 7:21-23.

Also think about this.......If we're all 'God's children' then how does He feel about His 'children' murdering one another? But that is what ALL of mainstream religion has been involved with every time their members go to war! That includes Catholic, Protestant, Jew, Muslim, Buddhist, and Hindu. etc.

But this is what Jesus taught.......(Matthew 5:44) However, I say to You: Continue to LOVE YOUR ENEMIES and to pray for those persecuting You;

And this is how True worshipers will be identified.......(John 13:35) By this all will know that YOU are my disciples, if YOU have LOVE among yourselves.”

And also consider this.......(Ephesians 1:3) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, for he has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in union with Christ,

Yes, Jesus has a GOD and FATHER.......and we must also worship the same God as Jesus worships.

Blessed be JEHOVAH.

The thought, common in these last days, that 'all religions are just different paths leading to God', is total Satanic and false religion. As already proved scripturally by others before me, Jesus taught the complete opposite. Christians must have the same view on the matter that Jesus had. Interfaith ideas were condemned by Jesus, and True Christians, Jehovah's Witnesses, agree totally with Jesus. There is ONLY ONE truth, not many.
2012-11-22 4:21 pm
All roads lead to God, but some of them wind round and round the mountain instead of climbing straight up.
You could slowly find the greatest truths in the universe, through lifetime after lifetime of broken hearts, regrets, mistakes, and spiritual misadventures, or you could stubbornly accept nothing less than the company of God.
Endless lifetimes mean endless opportunities to become interested in the Lord.

Jesus knew that the narrow path was one of meditation and devotion, and that one in a thousand would even care about finding God.

The only "destruction" meant for the others was multiple lives of misery ending in yet another death and rebirth, trying again and again to capture happiness, only to watch it fly away once more.
We cry over lovers, money, power, freedom, and find none of it is permanent.

All roads lead to God for those who seek Him. Unfortunately there are fewer people in this world that do seek the true God.

All roads lead to God means no matter what direction you take you will still see God and know the truth. You just wont enjoy being in His presence if you took the easy well traveled path.

A person can do what is necessary to attain salvation if he or she says the rosary carefully every day with love and trust.

http://www.sancta.org/rosary/how.html

The fifteen promises of Mary to Christians who recite the rosary:
1. Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary shall receive signal graces.
2. I promise my special protection and the greatest graces to all those who shall recite the Rosary.
3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against Hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.
4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities and will lead them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.
5. The soul which recommends itself to me by the recitation of the Rosary, shall not perish.
6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries, shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just, he shall remain in the grace of God and become worthy of eternal life.
7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church.
8. Those who are faithful to recite the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plenitude of His graces; at the moment of death, they shall participate in the merits of the saints in Paradise.
9. I shall deliver from Purgatory those who have been devoted to the Rosary.
10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven.
11. You shall obtain all you ask of me by the recitation of the Rosary.
12. All those who propagate the Holy Rosary shall be aided by me in their necessities.
13. I have obtained from my Divine Son that all the advocates of the Rosary shall have for intercessors the entire Celestial Court during their life and at the hour of death.
14. All who recite the Rosary are my sons, and brothers of my only Son, Jesus Christ.
15. Devotion to my Rosary is a great sign of predestination.

You can not apply reason to Jesus. This is just one example: he said he is the truth but when asked by the Roman Governor, «what is the truth?, he kept silence.
2012-11-22 4:27 pm
Jesus never said anything, he never existed.
2012-11-22 4:13 pm
Possibilities:
1) He was misinformed.
2) He was lying.
3) He was schizophrenic.

They're all very similar... Conclusion:
Don't have blind faith in a carpenter who if he existed, did so 2000 years ago before there were more logical ways of interpreting the world.
