English question, please help.?

Peter is beside Tom. (Peter is next to Tom.)

The shop is opposite the school building.
The shop is across from the school building.

Are these expressions correct?

The shop is at the corner.
The shop is on the corner.

Peter is beside Tom. -Doesn't sound right (Peter is next to Tom.)

The shop is opposite the school building. - right
The shop is across from the school building. - wrong

The children are playing on the playground. - wrong
The children are playing in the playground. - right

The shop is at the corner. - right
The shop is on the corner. - wrong
The shop is in the corner. - wrong

I'm not sure if the first couple sentences are one question or not but peter is beside tom and the shop is across from the school building are correct. Also, the children are playing on the playground is correct and the shop is at the corner. Prepositions.

The first two sentences are correct.

I would say "on the playground" instead of "in"

For the last sentence, "on" or "at the corner" is ok. I wouldn't say "in" the corner.
