The most usual connective is a conjunction.They are used to join words,phrases,or sentences together,eg:- Time and tide wait for no man. He tried hard but he was unsuccessful.
--Some conjunctions are used in pairs,eg;-What he said was neither kind nor true..

----Subordinate conjunctions in subordinate clauses in complex sentences are not complete and independent and can't stand alone,even though they contain a finite verb:-eg:-which I want...that he was tired....when he saw a woman....
eg:-(1) This is the girl which I want.
(2)The workman said that he was tired.
(3)The boy ran away when he saw the woman!
Hence sub.conj. are used.
