Nowadays, plastic surgery is becoming more and more common and popular, plarticularly for the teenagers who are not satisfied with their appearance. However, some people advocate that people who have gone through plastic surgery should not be allowed to take part in beauty contests because of the potential unfairness to other contestants.I personally do not support this suggestion because outer beauty is only one of the judging criteria,we should not overlook factors which are equally important for one to win the title.
First of all,as everybody may know, beauty contests require contentants to have well eloquence and critical thinking. That are the things that plastic surgery cannot change. No matter how beautiful you are,you also have to undergo a session in which MC will ask you various questions to test your eloquence and critical thinking.Taking Miss Universe as an example, almost all contentants process a beautiful face and excellent body shape. To be outstanding, contestants need to perform well in responing to the MC so as to get a higher marks and leave a deep impression on adjudicators. This example tells us that plastic surgery dose not make any sigificantly postive effects on making you a winner.
Apart from eloquence,it is also vital for contestants to know when to smile and how to show their confidence in front of the public. If one do well in this part, she will probably get a higher marks than those who only process a beautiful face but lack of the skills of pleasing the adjudicators. Moreover, having plastic surgery sometimes may also reflect that the contestants have a low self-esteem.A person who lacks of confidence in her appearance is not likely to capable of completing with others.
All in all, someone who has undergone plastic surgery dose not necessary mean that a more beautiful appearance would bring her any advantages in a beauty contest because beauty contests today require the contestants processing all-round abilities.
