I have had 3 warnings at work...?

maily because of my attendance and they have turned around saying I did not follow the correct procedure of ringing up everyday I was off. My Mum had a stroke and has been in and out of hospital that worried me and went to the hospital as she was rushed into hospital but because I am on my final warning I feel this Wednesday when I have to go for my disciplinary that I will be dismissed and sacked. I got my friend on my behalf to ring due to no phone and he said he would sort it out for me. When I managed to send a text on my phone 4 days later explaining my Mum was in a bad way in hospital. Today the manager said it was not good enough because I know the procedure of phoning up everday you off but I thought it would of been ok because they knew of the situation. I do not have a misconduct or anything like that. The warnings were down to time off and not letting them know everyday even though I thought they understood the situation. What are my chances of getting Jobseekers Allowance now as I`m not going to have a penny after the dissmisal?

Sorry about your Mum, but why did you manage to send a text 4 days later. Where was your phone on days 1, 2,&3. Why did you not speak to them. Grovel to them, and hope they like you enough to keep you on.

Unfortunately unless you are the one injured or in hospital and unconscious I (and obviously your employer) can see no reason why you are physically incapable of a 5 minute phone call! I understand your Mum was in hospital but surely you were sat around on your **** for hours, why didn't you just phone?

You would be sacked from any job for the same reason, you need to get your head around the procedures you have to follow in work I'm afraid.

You will be able to claim JSA following the dismissal as failing to attend work isn't classed as Gross Missconduct. They'll just ask your employer the reasons they sacked you and it will be fine.

Bear in mind if you FTA your JSA appointments without notifying them you will also have your money stopped. You have 2 hands with fingers, just stick some money in a pay phone and call the Jobcentre if you can't spare time to walk down! So infuriating.

Your employer does have just cause to let you go here due to not following Company rules. They do have these rules for a reason and dont very often sway from them so you are looking at a good chance of losing your job and since for just reasons, youll have a very hard time collecting Unemployment, so best to go and talk face to face with your Boss in hopes of saving your job and explain everything. Good luck
