A list of parts of speech in English grammar include the following:

1. Verb

2. Noun

3. Adjective

4. Adverb

verb (v.) = describe a motion of the subject/object
意思係形容一個人做緊咩...
e.g. Mary writes letters (write is a verb)..因為佢寫信..寫係一個動作.

adjective (adj.) = describe a noun
形容詞係用黎形容人or物件..一定係係noun既前面,不會係一個句子既最後.
e.g. I have a small, yellow balloon in my large box. (adj. = small, yellow, large)
small & yellow用黎形容balloon, 而"large"係形容box

Adverb (adv.) = modify a verb, adjective or a sentence.
副詞有時用黎答"how..","what..","when.."etc.既問題.
大部分用作修飾動詞.
e.g. "how fast does John run?" "John runs very quickly". (adv = quickly)
用了副詞 "quickly", 我地就知道John原來跑得好快.
副詞可以放係句子既前, 中,同後都可以...同埋好易分得出,因為多數會有--ly尾.
e.g. slowly, patiently..

Noun (n.) = name a person, object, place, animal, thing, idea...etc
e.g. he, she, it, cat, piece of music....
大多數會出現係句子既開頭.不過可以用係句子前,中,後.
e.g. Johnny likes to eat fish and beef. (noun= johnny, fish, beef)
noun用黎講一個人,事件,死物,動物等等..
一個完整句子一定會只少有一個noun + verb. (e.g. she runs)
