According to the shop manual, when drilling a 11.1mm--diameter hole in wood,
plastic, or aluminum, a drill should have a speed of 1400 rev/min .

1. For a 11.1-mm-diameter drill bit turning at a constant 1400rev/min , find the
maximum linear speed of any part of the bit.

2. Find the maximum radial acceleration of any part of the bit.

✔ 最佳答案
Angular speed of drill bit = 1400 x 2.pi/60 s^-1 = 146.6 s^-1
Max speed = 146.6 x (0.0111/2) m/s = 0.814 m/s

Max radial acceleration = 0.814^2/(0.0111/2) m/s^2 = 119 m/s^2
