咩嘢係「大食代」？「大食代」點解？

我個人認為是取其國語「大時代」諧音而起的名字吧，創意的一種。
事實是什麼就不知道了。

香港好多間大型商場裡面都有大食代, 英文food republic, 即美食廣場
