Whats the best, least labour intensive way to iron or press pleated skirts?

I wear a lot of long all round pleated skirts for work, to be fair my husband always used to press them for me but it used to take him ages! He doesnt really have the time now, plus we have 3 daughters who wear pleated skirts to school so I was wondering is there a quicker but equally good way of doing them? Are these steamers any good?

You just have to persevere really, or your husband does! Press each individual pleat with the skirt inside out otherwise the fabric might go shiny, Same applies to your girls skirts really although poly viscose school pleated skirts tend to be a bit more forgiving. If you wear the long, calf length, stitched down pleated skirts like I do, they are DEFINATELY worth spending the time on. They look and move wonderfully dont they?!

I am not sure what the material of you skirts are, but my Mum (in the 80s) used to fold her skirts longways before washing then carefully insert them into the leg part of tights. Wash on a gentle wash cycle then when they came out she would remove them from the tights and hang them out to dry.
Barely any ironing needed at all.

it will take ages. If it is a synthetic material the pleats should not come out.

If you happen to iron it inside of out just comply with the place the crease marks are. Pleated skirts are regularly made of a material whereby the pleats keep in, to a targeted measure. Simply comply with the creases however it is relatively time consuming. Ironing by means of a humid material can also be a excellent concept as earlier mentioned supplied you will see that the place you're presupposed to be ironing in the creases. Pleated skirts invariably appear rather exceptional for institution I suppose however you can be as well investing in a new skirt if which you can control it as this one skirt on my own will probabley take as long to iron as complete load of washing. Excellent success

I did what cartel's mum used to do but in addition when hanging on the line I used to put bulldog clips on the end of the pleats to hold them in place and remove the clips when I pressed them. Fiddley, but it was much quicker then trying to line the pleats up when it came to ironing after the skirts were dry.

the pleats are not set in? You must iron them in after each washing!? wow. most skirts are not like that, espeically for children's uniforms.

there is no quick way to iron in pleats.

I use a steamer at work on clothes. It gets out wrinkles, it does not set in creases
