A tank of liquid is heated by a heater. the heater delievers 2.7 MJ of energy in 30 min.

Q: assume 80% of the energy is delievered to the liquid. How long will it take to transfer 1 MJ of energy to the liquid? 我計到533s 但ANS係833s.....

First, we need to find out how much time is needed to transfer 1 J of energy to the liquid.
(30*60s)/ (2.7*1000000J*80%)
=1/1200 S/J

Since we need to transfer 1MJ of energy to the liquid, we can just simply multiply the result calculated by 1 MJ.

The time needed
=1/1200 * 1*1000000 s
=833.333...s
=833s(corr. to 3 sig fig)

[30(min)/(2.7(MJ)*80%)]*60(MIN)
=(30/2.16)*60
=13.888888...*60
=833.3333333...
=833s(corr. to the nearest 1 s)
