a. Apply for written test.

b. Written test

c. Instruction permit issued upon passing written test.

d. Instruction begins.

e. Apply for driving test

f. Driving test

g. Provisional license upon passing driving test

h. Full license after meeting all requirements of provisional license

By the way, if the cost is about the same, go with van instead (as you will get private car endorsement at the same time).
