"against"(prep)---disagreeing=eg:-The fight against terrorist of Obama Laden.
eg:-We're rowing against the current.
She,being my GF,was forced to marry against her will!
towards(toward) prep.:-
Towards expresses, "in the direction of", but not "arrival at " a place. Compare:He went to Australia yesterday.
The aeroplane flew towards the Sydney airport.
Further eg:in in the same direction of something:-They are heading towards "Fanland"territory now.
She had her back towards me in class.
This is a first step towards holy matrimony!
This is a first step getting her mattress cleaned up!
He is rich and tender towards her now.
