Dog has hair loss on the end of his nose (with picture)?

I had asked earlier about this, but now I have a picture to go with it. Anyone seen this before. It's been this way for about 2 weeks, though it started out a lot smaller. As far as I can tell, it hasn't spread to any other part of his body other than his nose.

And yes, I will take him to the vet asap. I'm not going to try and treat this myself. Also, he's not showing any weird symptoms of being in pain or anything. He doesn't seemed bothered at all by his nose being like that.

And yeah, I understand not wanting to click on the picture. I'm just trying to get an idea of what's up. He is kenneled at night and HATES it, which I guess might have something to do with it. But I guess we'll see what happens. Was gonna take him to the vet on Monday and just kinda see what happened over the weekend.

I have no idea if he's fallen or not. He's a VERY active dog (golden retriever/lab mix), so anything is likely

Sorry, but I don't click on links like this.

If this is a real question and not just some virus attempt, my first guess would be the dog is burying a treat a little too aggressively and this is rubbing the nose hairs off. If the dog is caged, he could also be doing it accidentally or out of boredom.

If it continues to spread, then he will need a vet visit to rule out a medical issue. Hairloss can be linked to Hypothyroid or Alopecia X.

Ha.
I opened the link.

I don't know what that could be, looks a little like road rash, has he fallen?

My Pomeranian lost the fur around one side of his nose once, it has grown back now, but his skin wasn`t pink. Maybe you should ask the Vet next time he`s in for his up date on shots or some thing.

Doesn't look like anything to be too concerned with, could have rubbed the hair off. or worst case it could be mange or skin allergies. I would just keep an eye on the spot and if it gets worse take him to a vet. I wouldn't waste the money going to a vet yet.

LIke the other answerer, I won't open pix. Hair loss at the end of the nose can be sunburn, an autoimmune disorder like pemphigus or discoid lupus, a zinc deficiency, allergic reaction to a bug bite, mange, lots of things. If its getting bigger, he does need vet attention. Good luck.
