self-esteem is the overall evaluation or appraisal of one's own worth.

1. they are both mostly used in noun form;
2. self-esteem seldom is extended to adj form.
3. self-respect may be extended to adj, like self-respectful, self-respective, or self-respecting. However, I never saw it as verb, but why not!
