Net displacement in the north direction
= (3.05 - 1.7) units = 1.35 units

Displacement in the west direction = 3.95 units

Hence, magnitude of resultant displacement = square-root[1.35^2 + 3.95^2] units = 4.17 units

Direction of displacement is at an angle of arc-tan(3.95/1.35) = 71.13 degrees west of north
