How do you know if the discounted price is not the original price?

I had been looking at purchasing a watch on amazon and it says it was originally $1000+ but now for only $300+. I don't know if it's a sales tactics in which the seller tries to attract people to buy the item by saying it has been discounted by a lot even if $300+ is actually the original price. I tried to search on the internet and it seems like everyone else is selling that for around $300-$400. Is there anyway I can tell?

Here's the link to the product if you can please look at it:

If you want the watch enough to spend $324 on it, then buy it.

Whether they say the original price was $325 or $3250 isn't going to change anything.
