Meaning in Chinese and English



style樣式 - the way in which something is said, done, expressed, or performed
substance實質 - that which is solid and practical in character, quality, or importance

''in style, but not in substance'' - “在樣式,而不在實質上"(in appearance, but not in the actual contents)

''as much about style as substance'' - "涉及樣式和涉及實質的程度相同"(the appearance and the actual contents being of equal importance)

in style = done in a way that people admire; with elegance and sophistication (別具風格地; 有氣派, 有風度)
