I bought a truck with the odometer rolled back, what can i do?

I know I know. i should have gotten the vehicle report before hand. Please don't rag me about that.
I bought this truck and then discovered the mileage was not accurate. I contcted the dealer and of course he just laughed at me. I have a car report stating when it was bought by the dealer and the actual mileage so in that case I should be able to prove that he was the one that rolled back the mileage right? He says he didn't roll the mileage back but he also told me when he bought it that he got it from an auction, but then when i contacted him later he denied telling me that. Any help would be appreciated.

=== NOW and TODAY .... facts .... it is against the FEDERAL LAW to tamper or turn back the odometer on any car -- truck -- SUV -- any vehicle === call the DMV and ask if they will investigate your claim ===== now see who has the last laugh .... you can sue for three times the money that you paid for the vehicle so best you talk to the DMV and then depending on what they say -- hire a lawyer ...

Auto finance is what I do for a living and you need to contact both your State Department of Motor Vehicles and the Used Car Commission and report this. It may very well be fraud.

Good luck.

turning the mileage back constitutes fraud. have the computer analyzed since it keeps track of mileage unless it was erased. that requires a mechanic with the proper computer. also, file a complaint with the better business bureau. they haave no power, but it puts the nasty repputation out in publlic. then , too, there is facebook and the other public media.

You'll have to file a report/claim with your State Attorney General's Office. They handle these situation. They may even order the dealer to buy the truck back. But it won't be an overnight solution.

*Next time you buy a vehicle, don't allow your heart to rule over your head. Get it checked out before you buy one! I would personally sign a sworn affidavit stating I was not aware the mileage had been turn back. Geez dude.
