By remainder theorem , 4( - 2)³ + 2(- 2)² - 30(- 2) - 36 = 0 since 4x³ + 2x² - 30x - 36 is divisible by x + 2.⇒
4( - 8) + 2(4) + 30(2) - 36 = 0
⇒
32(- 1)³ + 8(- 1)² - 60(- 1) - 36 = 0By remainder theorem again , x+1 is a factor of 32x³ + 8x² - 60x - 36.
