Let $x be the cost of the rest (7-3) ceramic cats
$(x+3) be the cost of 3 more expensive ceramic cats
4x+ 3(x+3) = 100-7
4x+3x+9=93
7x=84
x=12
4 ceramic cats cost $12 each //
& 3 ceramic cats cost $15 each //

2. Let x be the original number of glass beads
(1/2)x + (1/6)x + (1/7)x = x -16 (x 42)
21x +7x + 6x = 42x -672
8x=672
x=84

the original number of glass beads is 84 //

3a. PQ is a vertical line
the x's coordinates of two points are the same
a=-5
3b. 3-b= +/- 5
b=8 or b=-2
